Readiness: Do We Mean the Same Thing?
We use the word all the time, but I’m not convinced we all mean the same thing.
AI readiness. Customer readiness. Change readiness. Organizational readiness.
In fact, one of the biggest observations I’ve made recently is how often readiness is misunderstood across executive leadership groups.
Readiness isn’t a checklist before implementation.
Readiness is an organization’s capacity to realize the intended value of a strategic investment.
I believe there’s something even bigger at play: The Readiness Gap.
The space between making a strategic investment and actually realizing the value it was meant to deliver.
It’s where transformations either gain traction—or quietly stall.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be exploring what creates the Readiness Gap, why it matters, and how leaders can recognize and close it before investments lose momentum.
Technology alone doesn’t create business value. Organizations do, and readiness is an important part of achieving that ROI.
